USA beach destinations can be an excellent choice for families that want a fun-filled and relaxing vacation. Beaches offer a wide range of activities to insure the entire family will find something enjoyable during their stay.

Beach Activities

A day at the beach can include, swimming, jogging, walking, volleyball, flying kites, building sand castles, shell collecting, sunbathing, napping, picnics and best of all, relaxing. Bring a beach umbrella, beach chair, towels, sunblock, eyewear, camera, water, snacks, binoculars, a novel and don’t forget your bathing suit!

Boating and Fishing

Beach destinations often have a nice variety of boat cruises, including, nature cruises, scenic cruises, sunset cruises, , site-seeing, eco-tourism trips, kayaking adventures and fishing charters. The array of guided trips gives families a good choice of events, and there is something for everyone. For the more independent and experienced vacationer, boat and other watercraft rentals are another option.

When chartering a boat, it may be a good idea to consider the weather, traffic, and other factors, and plan ahead. Some boats can be chartered on short notice, while others may be booked up to a year in advance. Depending on the trip, season and vessel you might need sunblock, camera, insect repellent, water, snacks, a light jacket or even rain gear. Information on what to bring is typically available by contacting the captain beforehand.

On nature cruises you might encounter are any number of wildlife and waterfowl including deer, ducks, geese, herons, egrets, plovers and other shorebirds, whales, porpoises, otters, seals and more. Local guides know the best spots and are eager to guide visitors on trips that just cannot be viewed from land.

Fishing guides might fish for flounder, trout, bluefish, croakers, spot, drum, striped bass, shark, sea bass, tautog, tuna, billfish, mahi-mahi, wahoo or other fish, depending on the season, boat and destination. Other trips will feature crabbing, shrimping, clamming, or just exploring.

Crabbing is an enjoyable family vacation activity. Catching blue crabs does not require much in the way of equipment or skill. Crabbing can be done from a boat, pier, near bridges or along the shoreline. Crabbers need only a line, weight, bait and dip net for the traditional rig, or an inexpensive crab trap, which eliminates the need for a dipping crabs up. A more basic rig is just twine, a sinker and whatever bait you can obtain, tied on the line. The line is then lowered into the water, and gently raised once a tug is felt.

Serious crabbing baits include fresh fish, eels, bull lips and other baits but the most basic bait, chicken necks, work just as well on a hand line. The traps are used in a similar fashion, except that the trap is lifted sharply to close the doors suddenly and capture any crabs that are inside.

Crabs should be kept damp and cool and steamed as soon as possible. They are simple to cook, and can be steamed whole or chilled, then the backs removed and rinsed out before steaming. In either case, the crabs are sprinkled with crab seasoning and steamed until they are bright orange. Serve with melted butter and a cold refreshment! Crabmeat is also excellent in a variety of dishes and even freezes well for short periods.

Clamming is a family activity everyone can enjoy on a beach vacation. Clams are easy to find, cook and handle. Locals catch clams by raking, wading, and signing. Some clamming areas can be reached on foot. Boaters can explore even more possibilities. You can also use a local guide to assist you on an enjoyable clamming trip.

Dining Out

After a day at the beach you can stop for a cool ice cream cone, have a nice dinner while watching the sunset, or visit a local niteclub.

Beach destinations are known for fresh seafood! You might find fish, lobsters, crabs, oysters, clams, mussels, scallops as the fresh catch, depending on your location. Local cuisine varies but almost every beach destination will have something for everyone.

Beach resorts usually offer a wide range of accommodations. Vacationers will find vacation rentals, condos, cottages, hotels, motels, inns, bed and breakfasts, camping facilities or other options.

Vacationers can sometimes get excellent
rates and availability in the off season. During the peak seasons, rates are higher and accommodations are much harder to book. Visitors are advised to check for availability well in advance in most cases.

Festivals are often an enjoyable activity during a beach vacation. Festivals usually combine, food, shopping and entertainment in one safe and easy to find location.

The Chincoteague Island Virginia Oyster Festival is a good example of a popular Festival. The event features Chincoteague Island’s famous oysters. The festival promotes the oyster season, which includes the cooler months of fall, winter and spring. Food served includes oysters prepared in a variety of ways, clam fritters, steamed crabs, and other items. The Oyster Festival is held at Maddox Family Campground, on Maddox Blvd in Chincoteague Island, Virginia.

Take Part In Holidays At A Coastal Beach

Most people love noting more than to spend their summer vacation relaxing on the beach. However, sometimes the beach can get a little crowded and that can potentially spoil your holiday. There is a solution to this though and that is to go to coastal beaches.

Why Opt for a Coastal Beach?

Whilst thousands of people flock to coastal beaches each year, usually most of them stay in resorts or in local hotels. So if you want to enjoy a coastal beach but you do not want the hassle of it being overcrowded, staying in a coastal beach cottage could be the answer.

It may still be packed on the beaches, but if you have private accommodation such as a coastal cottage, it is usually a lot more relaxing. You can enjoy the beach even though it is quite busy, but then you can go back to the cottage and relax in peaceful surroundings. Also, because you are staying so close to the beach, you can literally walk on it whenever you like. So you can potentially avoid the busiest periods by going early in the morning and late in the evening.

The main thing which puts people off a coastal cottage rental, is the fact that they think it is too expensive. Fortunately that isn’t always the case and there are many coastal cottage rentals al around the world that will be within your price range. Of course a number of factors will affect the actual cost of your coastal cottage. You have to take into consideration how far away it is from the beach and local amenities. If you can drive then you can easily enjoy an outdoor vacation on the coast, whilst you rent a coastal cottage that is set quite a distance from the actual beach. It will cost extra in gasoline however so do remember to keep that in mind. Generally the further away from the beach the cottage is, the cheaper the price will be.

No matter where you are going on your summer holidays, always remember to ask for a picture of your chosen rental coastal cottage. Sometimes companies will list properties to rent without pictures, you turn up and the cottage is a mess. So pictures are an essential if you want to know where you are staying and if you will like it.

Overall if you are planning on getting away this summer, then a coastal beach vacation could be ideal. Coastal cottages are a blessing to those who like their privacy and so if you are worried about overcrowding it may be a good idea for you to look at the coastal cottages in your chosen destination.

Beach Lovers Enjoy Your Hawaii Vacation With A Hawaii Beach Rental

Do you consider yourself to be a beach lover? Whether you enjoy lounging along the shoreline, swimming, scuba diving, boating, or surfing, you may consider yourself to be a beach lover. If you do love the beach, there is a good chance that you may want to vacation in an area that can give you just what you want; a place to swim, boat, surf, or go scuba diving. You can do this in Hawaii. In fact, you can have the vacation of your dreams on one of the many Hawaiian Islands.

Choosing to take a Hawaii vacation is enough to give you the vacation of your dreams, but you may want more. You can easily do this by carefully choosing where you want to stay while on vacation, in the form of overnight accommodations. If you are looking to enjoy the beautiful beaches of Hawaii, as well as everything that goes along with them, you are urged to give Hawaii beach rentals some thought. Hawaii beach rentals are the perfect way to spend your whole vacation taking in the beautiful beaches of Hawaii.

As you likely already know, Hawaii vacation beach rentals are rentals that are along the beach. These rentals are most commonly found along Hawaii’s coasts. What is nice about Hawaii beach rentals is that they come in a number of different forms. The two most popular types of rentals include beachfront vacation homes and beachfront vacation condos. When trying to decide whether you would like to stay at a Hawaii beachfront vacation home or a beachfront condo, you are advised to examine the advantages and disadvantages of each. Doing so may make it easier for you to choose the overnight accommodations that can best fit your needs, as well as your wants.

Hawaii beachfront vacation rentals are ideal for those who are looking for privacy and some seclusion. This is because beachfront vacation rentals are traditional homes; homes that are designed for vacationers and homes that are located along the coast. Perhaps, the greatest benefit of staying in a Hawaii beachfront vacation home is that you will be able to enjoy a Hawaii vacation, while still feeling the comforts of homes. All vacation homes come fully furnished; therefore, you really only need to worry about your food and drinks. In addition to coming fully furnished, most beachfront vacation homes house multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, dinning rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and family room areas.

Although there are a number of benefits to staying at one of these popular Hawaii beach rentals, you will also find a few, small number of, disadvantages. One of those disadvantages is the cost. Since you will be renting your own private home, you will find that beachfront vacation homes cost more money than traditional overnight accommodations at a hotel or at a resort. Despite the high costs, you will find renting one of these Hawaii beach rentals to be well worth it. In fact, that leads to another disadvantage of beachfront vacation homes, their popularity. Over the past few years, the popularity of beachfront vacation homes has, literally, skyrocketed. This means that a large number of travelers are often requesting the same homes. To ensure that you get the beachfront vacation home of your choice, you are advised to make your reservations early.

In addition to beachfront vacation homes, you can also book a stay at a Hawaii beach rental by renting a beachfront vacation condo. Beachfront vacation condos are living spaces, or vacation spaces, that are available for rent. These spaces are often housed inside a large building, such as a townhouse or a high-rise. As with vacation rentals, beachfront condos tend to cost more than most hotels or resorts, but they are still, almost always, worth the extra cost. This is because most beachfront vacation condos have multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, dinning rooms, living rooms, and kitchens; everything that you need while on a Hawaii vacation.

Aside from all of the points mentioned above, it is also important to remember that Hawaii beachfront rentals tend to give you more access to the beaches. In fact, you will often find that you are given twenty-four hour access. Whether you are looking to go for a boat ride or a swim, you should be able to, depending on the location of your Hawaii beachfront rental and on the condition of the waters in front of you.

A Vacation For A Family Of Three To Montego Bay At The Coyaba Beach Resort

The Coyaba Beach Resort is not only one of the best resorts in Montego Bay, but also in the whole of Jamaica. In fact in my opinion one of the best small luxury resorts in the Caribbean.

We were looking for a cheap Montego Bay package, and a vacation for a family of three to Montego Bay, and The Coyaba Beach Resort more than filled the bill.

Our daughter is only eight and so we needed a decent size room which we certainly got at Coyaba. The room was very spacious with two large beds, overlooking the beach. We were on the third floor, with good views, but heard that the first floor had a lot of traffic noise from the road. It rained on one of the days we were there, and the TV wasn’t great, but we were able to get a video for our daughter.

We managed to find what was called a cheap Montego Bay Vacation package, pay for four nights and get the fifth one free, and that made it a good deal especially as it was all inclusive.

Anyway the room was good, but the fridge wasn’t stocked unless we asked room service. The same was true for things like shampoo and shower gel, although to be fair, when we called, they arrived quickly.

The pool area was nice, and we didn’t struggle at all for sun beds even although the resort was pretty full. There was however a mysterious shortage of towels and something called beach towel cards which were quite frustrating. Waiter service around the pool was almost non existent, unless the pool area was quiet.

The beach looks great from the photos, but it is definitely a man made beach.

There really wasn’t anything for my daughter to do, but she tends to want to be with us, so that wasn’t a problem, although the lack of choice of food at lunch time for her could have been a problem, lucky she likes burgers!!

The breakfast eggs were good and the chicken and pork dishes at dinner.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Coyaba Beach Resort. I can’t really say it is the best Montego Bay Resort, but it is small, relatively intimate, and privately owned. It can justify being one of the top small luxury resorts in the Caribbean, but I’m not sure I would have been so happy had we paid the full price, but it was OK for a vacation for a family of three to Montego Bay

The breathtaking ocean views will make you lose track of time, and after sunset the nightlife will keep you entertained. However, your hotel very easily influences the beauty and fun of Virginia Beach.

Choosing the right hotel is one of the most important pieces of your Virginia Beach vacation. Take the time to investigate what attractions are your favorites and look for a hotel nearby. Being in close proximity to activities you want to enjoy will save you travel time and the confusion of trying to navigate in a new city. If you’re a nature lover, look for a hotel close to the local nature preserves or hotels that offer dolphin and whale watching expeditions as part of a vacation package. Next, ask the hotel about their typical patrons. Some hotels are the perfect place for kids. They’re close to the park and have facilities to keep your children entertained. On the other hand, some hotels specialize in quiet, secluded getaways with quaint reading rooms overlooking the water. Bringing in children may not be such a good idea. It’s important to know what your hotel is known for and what you will need.

No matter what you need, there is a hotel for you at Virginia Beach. Look for them online, or call around. Don’t settle for the first offer, because with the hundreds of local hotels, inns and bed and breakfasts, you’re bound to find one perfect for you.
