Yosemite National Park – Travel Destinations

So, you’ve heard about Yosemite National Park, and you’ve been dying to go, but you’re not quite the outdoorsy type. Not a fan of sleeping on the hard ground or dealing with setting up a tent? Diversity Hotels knows your predicament and this article is just for you.

Yosemite is located in the heart of the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains in central California, about 200 miles east of San Francisco. The park boasts some of the most breathtaking scenery in the contiguous United States. From its pine forests and waterfalls that plummet more than 2,400 feet, to its wildlife and giant granite monoliths that stand over 3,000 feet high, Yosemite has something for everyone.

You know you’re dying to see all of these natural wonders, but you’re not sure where to stay comfortably. Yosemite Valley has a variety of options that are sure to fit nearly any budget.

If you like the idea of cooking over a fire but can’t do the sleeping on the ground thing, Housekeeping Camp is ideal for you. These cement/canvas cabins include a double bed and bunk bed, plus electricity and your own covered patio with a picnic table. And of course, a fire ring for that true camping experience. Additional cots can be rented as well. Prices start at around $100 a night. A shower house and laundrymat are located inside the camp.

If you’re looking for somewhat more expensive and kind-of old fashioned lodging, Curry Village has a range of options from canvas tent cabins, with two single beds (or one double), and electricity to quaint little log cabins with all the essentials. Prices here range from $100-$200 a night. A shower house and laundrymat are located inside the camp. Several small restaurants and a general store are located in the camp.

Now, if you’re more of a “hotel only” kind of person, the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is more your style. The Yosemite Lodge has several room options, from a double bed, TV, and Wi-Fi to a king bed, refrigerator and a balcony or patio. Prices for the Yosemite Lodge range from $190-$270 a night. The Yosemite Lodge has its own restaurant and several others are close by.

Finally, if you’re wanting true luxury in the middle of the wilderness, The Ahwahnee Hotel is the way to go. The Ahwahnee is an official AAA Four-Diamond hotel and boasts lavish rooms and exquisite service. This historic hotel is a beautiful stone building nestled beneath the shadow of iconic Half Dome. Packages start at around $500 a night. Dining at The Ahwahnee is as extravagant as the stay.

So whether you’re looking for a step above traditional tent camping or a luxurious bed and breakfast experience in a Four-Diamond hotel, Yosemite Valley has the perfect lodging for you.
